How we approach this at University Physical Medicine
Same-day evaluation when possible — Florida's 14-day PIP rule means waiting can cost you coverage.
Comprehensive exam with imaging if clinically warranted, with documentation written for the people who need to read it (PIP, attorneys, courts).
Coordinated care: chiropractic, soft-tissue, rehab, and medical input from Celeste Lind, A.P.R.N. when needed.
Direct communication with your attorney and insurance carrier so you don't have to chase paperwork.
Individual results may vary. Our providers will recommend a plan based on your evaluation.
Questions patients ask about this
Do I need a referral to come in?
No. After an auto accident in Florida you can come directly to us. If you have an attorney, we'll coordinate with their office.
What is the Florida 14-day rule?
Under Florida's PIP statute, you generally need to receive initial medical care within 14 days of the accident, or your PIP benefits may be limited. The clock starts on the date of the accident — don't wait.
What if I don't feel that bad yet?
Whiplash and soft-tissue injuries often present 24–72 hours after the collision. An evaluation now establishes baseline documentation and protects your treatment options if symptoms emerge later.
