How we approach this at University Physical Medicine

    1

Full upper-extremity neurological exam — many 'carpal tunnel' patterns actually start at the neck.

    2

Soft-tissue work along the median nerve path (forearm, elbow, shoulder, neck).

    3

Wrist mobilization and ergonomic coaching for the actual aggravators.

    4

Coordination with a hand specialist when the EMG/NCV findings warrant it.

Individual results may vary. Our providers will recommend a plan based on your evaluation.

    Questions patients ask about this

    Will I need surgery?

Most mild-to-moderate carpal tunnel cases respond to conservative care. Severe cases with significant motor loss often do better with surgical release. The exam tells us where you fall.
